Advertising students win Reimagining Our Westmoreland competition

Six Saint Vincent College students enrolled in Jennifer Miele’s Advertising and Promotion course, were named first place winners of a competition designed to reimagine the marketing of Westmoreland County. Student groups designed a campaign, researched target audiences and prepared a media plan which they presented to a panel of judges on Dec. 5 at Saint Vincent. Team Pennsylvania Promotions won the competition with their campaign entitled Westmoreland, Where Opportunity Grows. Members of the team, who each received a $100 gift card, were from left in front, Cassaundra Trudel, a sophomore marketing major from Lake Wales, Florida; Rachel Hollinger, a senior graphic design major from Leechburg; Carly Mazzone, a senior chemistry major from Hagerstown, Maryland; Michael Layton, a sophomore marketing major from McMurray; Amanda Gretz, a senior communication major from Elkridge, Maryland; and, standing sixth from left in back row, Sullivan Demarest, a freshman marketing major from Hockessin, Delaware. Judges included, back row from left, James Kunkel of the Saint Vincent College Small Business Development Center, Chad Amond of Westmoreland Chamber of Commerce; Westmoreland County Commissioners Ted Kopas and Chuck Anderson; Jim Smith of Economic Growth Connection; Jason Rigone of Westmoreland Industrial Development Corporation; and Miele of Excela Helath.
