LEARN Speaker Series Hosts Hilary Corna

Saint Vincent College’s LEARN Speaker Series will host Hilary Corna on Thursday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fred M. Rogers Center on the Saint Vincent College campus.  No tickets are required for admission and the presentation is free and open to the public.

The title of Corna’s presentation is “Dare Yourself.” Upon graduating from college, Corna purchased a ticket to Singapore, against the advice of her friends and family. After some time spent searching, she landed a job as a senior executive officer for Toyota. Since then, she has returned to America and published her nonfiction narrative, “One White Face,” an account of her time abroad that is currently being adapted into a screenplay. She is also the founder of the #DareYourself movement, which encourages college students to take risks and focus on what they want to do, rather than what they are told they can’t do.

The Saint Vincent College LEARN Speaker Series, which stands for Listen, Evaluate, Analyze, Reflect and Navigate, was started in 2013 and features speakers on contemporary issues or personal growth.  It works to prepare students for the world of today.
