Joel A. Santoro of Indiana, a sophomore at Saint Vincent College majoring in marketing and minoring in Operational Excellence, has been elected vice president of the Student Government Association (SGA) Executive Board for 2018.
As vice president, he hopes to continue the Saint Vincent community traditions. “I want to get a pulse of the student body and be able to bring how they are feeling to administration and other staff in order to keep the friendly and inviting atmosphere alive,” he said. “I wanted the opportunity to bring people closer together within the Saint Vincent community.”
He was previously active in Student Government as a Saint Benedict Hall representative and as sophomore class vice president.
Santoro has served as a member of the Orientation Committee and the Alpha Lambda Delta honor society for excellent academic achievement in his first year of study. He was honored as SGA Freshman of the Year. He is a member of the Saint Vincent College club ice hockey team.
After he completes his undergraduate education at Saint Vincent, he plans to work for a company that has opportunities to help people and to make the world a better place.
Santoro said he was attracted to Saint Vincent by the friendly atmosphere and culture. “I was impressed with the McKenna School of Business and its success with job placement,” he added.
A graduate of Indiana Area High School, Santoro is the son of Jeff and Jeannie Santoro. He is a member of Saving Grace Church in Indiana.
