Four students completed the professional graduate education doctoral completion program jointly offered by Excela Health School of Anesthesia and Saint Vincent College and were awarded the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) degree at Saint Vincent College’s 13th annual December Commencement on Dec. 16. Dr. Stephen Jodis, standing second from right, dean of the Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing; Susan Tranchine, standing right, assistant director of the program; Dr. Michael DeBroeck, standing second from left, director of the program, Excela Health School of Anesthesia; and Dr. John Borza, director of the program, Saint Vincent College, standing left, joined the graduates after the ceremony. The program, one of the first in the country and one of only a handful in the United States to accommodate the needs of working nurse anesthetists, prepares Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists to earn a DNAP and become leaders in this rapidly developing field of health care.
