Seventy-nine to Participate in SVC March for Life Trip Jan. 19

Seventy-nine Saint Vincent College students and others will participate in the 45th annual March for Life on Friday, Jan. 19, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Under the direction of coordinators Sam Whittaker and Ben Watt, co-presidents of the Saint Vincent College Respect Life Club (RLC), and RLC student officers Andrew Conley, Melissa Koshute, Jessica Hartner and Jimmy Rosa, the group will depart early Friday morning and travel by bus.

The Saint Vincent trip is sponsored by RLC with funding support from the Student Government Association and local donors.

The March for Life, which has been held every year around the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that overturned all state laws against abortion, will begin with a noon rally and be followed by a march down the Mall toward the Capitol and Supreme Court.

The Saint Vincent group will join with tens of thousands of abortion protestors including about 6,000 marchers from southwestern Pennsylvania.
