Leadership and Service Awards Announced on Founders' Day

LATROBE, PA – Twenty-five Saint Vincent College students were named as recipients of the 2018 Leadership and Service Award and were recognized at the annual Saint Vincent Founders’ Day Honors Convocation on Thursday, Nov. 15, in the Basilica.

These students were selected by campus nominating committees on the basis of academic achievement, service to community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. The awards were presented by Saint Vincent director of service learning and outreach Kelly King.  

The 2018 honorees included: Faith Brake, a junior psychology major from Gaithersburg, Maryland; Russell Clark, a senior communication major from Waynesburg; Michael Cooper, a senior biology major from Quicksburg, Virginia; Journie Crutchman, a junior early childhood education major from Carmichaels; Taylor Easter, a senior biology major from Manns Choice; Marion Emerson, a senior English major from Clarksburg, West Virginia; Ean Eshelman, a senior integrated science major from Pittsburgh (15234); Jared Gregory, a junior business management major from Derry; Justin Hoffman, a junior biology major from North Huntingdon; Jordan Joseph, a sophomore engineering major from Verona; Nicholas Lange, a senior psychology major from Pittsburgh (15228); Vincent Lessard, a senior environmental science major from Nicktown; Taylor Medeiros, a senior biology major from Cranberry Township; Megan Miller, a junior psychology major from New Salem; Jessica Packard, a senior biology major from Pittsburgh (15202); Laurel Prengaman, a senior early childhood education major from Latrobe; Heather Ramsey, a sophomore early childhood education major from Derry; Allie Richter, a junior mathematics education major from Connellsville; Jessica Rudolph, a junior biology major from Altoona; Juliana Ruggiero, a junior integrated science major from Elkridge, Maryland; Joel Santoro, a junior economics major from Indiana; Kayla Schehr, a senior early childhood education major from Irwin; Meghan Taylor, a senior criminology, law, and society major from Coraopolis; Gavin Watters, a junior business management major from North Huntingdon; and Carolyn Welka, a senior early childhood education major from Gibsonia.
