The Fall 2018 Western PA Collegiate Job and Internship Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.10, at the Monroeville Convention Center, according to an announcement by Dennis Gilbert, associate director of the Career Center and career consultant at Saint Vincent College, and WestPACS external relations. The event is sponsored by a 30-year consortia which includes 51 colleges and universities.  The sponsor, Western Pennsylvania Career Services Association (WestPACS) is an independent, non-profit consortium of career development professionals representing the member community colleges, colleges and universities of Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Eastern Ohio.

Fair information is available at www.westpacs.org. Currently there are more than 100 employers registered and the group anticipates 170 employers to attend. Students and alumni from member schools (see list on website) may pre-register online through Oct. 8 and attend free of charge or may register at the event. A new online employer directory is available to help students plan for this event.

Students and alumni from colleges and universities outside the WestPACS consortium are welcome to attend for a fee of $10 at the door, but will not be able to pre-register. All candidates are required to wear appropriate professional attire for admission to the fair and bring a resume. In addition, workshops will be offered for job candidates in preparation of the expo. Presentations will run from at 9:15 a.m. - noon to help candidates make the most of the event, understand how to effectively follow up and learn tips for finding internships and employment.

For employers, the registration fee for this event is $600 (for-profit) or $410 (non-profit and government) for two representatives. Historically, the Collegiate Job and Internship Fair has been attended by college students and alumni, and attendance typically ranges from 800 to 1,500 job seekers contingent upon the labor market.

Further information is available by contacting Gilbert at dennis.gilbert@stvincent.edu or 724-805-2254.
