LATROBE, PA – The annual Westmoreland Assists Native Talent (WANT) Job and Career Expo will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Ramada Inn in Greensburg, according to an announcement by Dennis Gilbert, associate director and career consultant at Saint Vincent College Career Center.

WANT is sponsored by a 30-year partnership among local colleges, chambers of commerce, PA Career Link® Westmoreland, the Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board, the Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette and the Westmoreland Industrial Development Board.

“This ongoing collaborative effort connects local employers with job seekers,” Gilbert explained. “WANT’s primary focus has been a job fair, held at a central location in Greensburg, which brings together local employers and job seekers. Employers will be recruiting for full-time, part-time, summer and internship positions. In addition, there will be workshops offered for job candidates in preparation for the expo. Historically, WANT has been attended by college students, alumni and the community, and attendance typically ranges from 300-500 job seekers.”

More than 65 employers are expected to staff the event including 1st Summit Bank, Adelphoi Village, Cintas Corporation, City of Pittsburgh, General Carbide, Highlands Hospital, Menasha Corporation, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, Enterprise Holdings, Peace Corps, Powerex, Silvis Group, Product Evaluation Systems, Westmoreland Mechanical Testing and WVU Medicine.

Students, alumni and others may register at Resumes and professional attire are strongly suggested for those attending. There is no fee to attend the event. A link to employers attending is also available at the website.  For employers, the registration fee for this event is $200 (for-profit) or $150 (non-profit) for two representatives.
