by Public Relations | Jan 30, 2019

LATROBE, PA – An information session for those interested in learning more about the Saint Vincent College Master of Science in Management: Operational Excellence (MSMOE) program in the Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics and Government will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, in room 42 of Alfred Hall on the Saint Vincent campus.

Individuals who would like to participate virtually can access the info session via a GoTo Meeting link.

The event will be presented by Dr. Michael J. Urick, assistant professor of management and operational excellence and director of the graduate degree program, which was recently ranked 32nd in the U.S. News and World Report's listing of top 100 online non-MBA business graduate programs in the country.

“In the interactive session where attendees will be able to ask any questions they may have, we will discuss the philosophy of the program which focuses on creating a culture to allow for effective problem-solving and waste minimization,” explained Urick. “We will also discuss the course requirements, special programs including hands-on experiential seminars and trips, and the unique blend of traditional management concepts with Operational Excellence tools.”

The Saint Vincent program takes an innovative approach to exploring major issues facing managers in today’s turbulent business climate. Specifically, the MSMOE is innovative in its approach to supplementing classroom learning with a hands-on approach that provides students the tools they need to minimize waste in their organizations, while increasing quality, improving efficiency and fostering employee commitment. As such, the MSMOE defines “management” as focusing on three interrelated areas, including people, organizations and processes.

Faculty in the MSMOE include leaders in their respective areas and have experience as managers, executives, researchers, business owners and consultants. Graduates of the program have consistently reported being more effective in their jobs as well as being aggressively recruited by organizations who view proper management techniques as crucial to improving their operations on the path to becoming truly excellent.

Applications for the MSMOE summer session are currently being accepted. For more information, contact Urick at / 724-805-2654.
