ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Three Saint Vincent College representatives recently delivered a presentation on the College’s interdisciplinary writing program’s newly-implemented assessment of writing outcomes at the 2019 Higher Education Data Sharing (HEDS) consortium’s annual conference.

Dr. Sara Lindey, director of the interdisciplinary writing program and associate professor of English; Sara Hart, lecturer of English and director of international education; and Julia Cavallo, director of assessment and institutional research, delivered a presentation entitled “A Linchpin for Success: Faculty and Administrator Collaboration to Assess Writing” at the HEDS conference, which was attended by hundreds of representatives from colleges and universities across the country.

Since fall 2017, the interdisciplinary writing program has been developing a multi-year longitudinal assessment of writing outcomes. The project is spearheaded by a committee, led by Lindey, that includes Hart, Cavallo and Dr. Devin Fava, associate professor of psychology.
