LATROBE, PA – For the tenth consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Saint Vincent College in the first tier of national liberal arts colleges.

The rankings are based on several key measures of quality including graduation and retention rates, assessment of excellence by peers, social mobility, faculty resources, financial resources, admission selectivity and alumni giving.

Saint Vincent's position moved up to 132 this year after last year's ranking of 152. A total of 223 institutions were selected for inclusion by U.S. News in the top tier of the best liberal arts colleges.

"We appreciate the recognition and acknowledgement of Saint Vincent College in U.S. News & World Report as a top tier liberal arts college," said College president Father Paul Taylor, O.S.B.  "We provide challenging academics that prepare students for careers as leaders and to lead meaningful lives. We support our students to be successful in every way possible."

Schools included in the U.S. News & World Report’s national liberal arts rankings emphasize undergraduate education and award at least half of their degrees in the liberal arts field of study, including such disciplines as English, biological and physical sciences, history, philosophy, foreign languages and the visual and performing arts.

This is the second ranking that Saint Vincent College has received from U.S. News in 2019, as in April, it ranked the College’s Master of Science in Management: Operational Excellence (MSMOE) program 32nd among best online non-MBA graduate business programs nationally.

This marks the 35th year in which U.S. News & World Report has released its college rankings. Along with its rankings of national liberal arts colleges, it also ranks schools in three other categories: national universities, regional universities and regional colleges.

In addition to U.S. News, Saint Vincent College’s quality educational programs have garnered recognition from Forbes (Liberal Arts Universities, Northeast Colleges and Universities), Washington Monthly (Top Liberal Arts Colleges), WalletHub (Top Colleges and Universities) and (Top Christian Colleges and Universities in the U.S.).
