Wraps for Kids full group

LATROBE, PA – The Saint Vincent College Education Department recently hosted the seventh annual SVC Wraps for Kids event, a community service initiative in conjunction with the Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau and Children First Fund that provides Christmas gifts for underprivileged children throughout Westmoreland County.

Throughout the school year, students helped to raise funds that covered the costs of gifts, wrapping paper and materials. The group purchased all gifts and materials on Saturday, Dec. 7, and then held a wrapping party on Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve.

Under the guidance of Dr. Kathleen Beining, assistant professor of early childhood education, 110 Saint Vincent College students wrapped gifts for 317 children.

Over its six-year run, SVC Wraps for Kids has benefited more than 1,200 children.
