Fred Rogers Center Selected as Beneficiary of Charitable Video Campaign

LATROBE, PA – The Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children’s Media at Saint Vincent College has been chosen as the beneficiary for Klick Care, a charitable giving program from Klick Health.

Each year, Klick Health creates a holiday video which typically goes viral. For each view of the video, Klick donates $1 to their designated charity and with their 2019 theme of kindness, the organization selected Fred Rogers Center as its nonprofit of choice.

Initially, Klick’s donation was capped at $10,000. That goal, however, was achieved in mere hours, leading to Klick’s subsequent pledge to double its initial donation if the video hits 10 million views by the end of 2019. As of Dec. 18, the video garnered 5 million views on YouTube.

Entitled “Contagious: Holiday Epidemic is Spreading,” the video shows random acts of kindness performed at unexpected times and their positive, contagious effects. The acts depicted are reenactments of several real-life acts of kindness previously captured on video.

In behind-the-scenes footage released by Klick, the organization’s co-founder and CEO, Leerom Segal, says that “small random acts of kindness can have such incredible ripples through people’s lives,” while creative director Mark Scott said, “We’re hoping that this will catch fire and incite a lot of kind acts in the real world.”
