Saint Vincent College hosts annual homeschool science fair

LATROBE, PA – The Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing held its eighth annual Homeschool Science Fair on Feb. 6 at Saint Vincent College. There were 23 participants in three age groups and 24 Saint Vincent College students served as judges and spectators.

This year’s winners were:

Older division (ages 10-older)

  • Best overall: Kaden and Preston Crousey, Salem Township, “Got Bounce”
  • Best use of scientific method: Daniel and Samuel Evans, Latrobe, “Bunny Maze 2.0”
  • Best display: Jase and Judah Bisping, Latrobe, “Water Filtration”

Middle division (ages 7-10)

  • Best overall: Fischer and Cohan Smith, Greensburg, “Five-Second Rule”
  • Best use of scientific method: Beia Getty, Murrysville, “Let’s Connect: Magnets”
  • Best display - Clifton Coyne, Ligonier, “Pokémon”

Younger division (ages 5-6)

  • Best overall: Jonah Williams, Irwin, “Hair Strength"
  • Best display: Arya Borris, Jeanette, “Candy Science"
