LATROBE, PA – Saint Vincent College has been selected as a remote site for a weeklong QCaMP (quantum, computing, mathematics and physics) summer session for educators.
The camp will run daily from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. June 16-20 on the Saint Vincent campus. There is no cost for the session, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.

As the Pittsburgh region continues to reinvent itself by embracing cutting-edge technology, teachers need to translate quantum concepts in their classrooms. QCaMP helps teachers grasp the fundamentals of quantum computing and quantum physics and understand how to apply these principles to their curriculum.
Teachers will discover engaging ways to teach and explore quantum mechanics at the introductory level and beyond, acquire resources for lesson plans and explore discussion points about how quantum mechanics can transform society.
QCaMP is offered through Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a group of partners that includes Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory and Quantum Systems Accelerator, one of the U.S. Department of Energy’s five national quantum information science research centers.
In March 2024, Saint Vincent alumna Dr. Megan Ivory, C’07, a senior member of the technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories, conducted a one-day QCaMP workshop for three dozen local high school teachers and students at Saint Vincent.
