LATROBE, PA – The Saint Vincent College Psi Iota chapter of Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), a national education honor society, inducted 19 students on March 1.
Eligible undergraduate students must have an overall GPA of 3.25 or higher. Eligible graduate students must have an overall GPA of 3.75. All candidates must intend to continue in the field of education and demonstrate leadership abilities.
Dr. Tracy McNelly, associate professor of education in the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and the KDP advisor, welcomed Brother Bosco Hough, O.S.B., C’18, G’20, who provided the opening prayer and introductory remarks.
Psi Iota chapter president Addison Rimmel, a senior middle level mathematics major from Cranberry Township, introduced keynote speaker Dr. Taylor Guido, C’12, G’15, a science teacher in the Greensburg Salem School District.
Kappa Delta Pi has more than 45,000 members worldwide and more than 600 chapters. KDP's mission is to inspire and equip future and new teachers to thrive. Saint Vincent College's Psi Iota chapter of KDP was formed in 1997 with 43 initiates. Father Phillip Kanfush, O.S.B., PhD, professor of education, was the chapter's first advisor.

- Makenna Maier, a junior from Butler majoring in mathematics with a minor in education
- Mikena Marino, a freshman from Latrobe majoring in early childhood education
- Julia Mikita, a graduate student from Verona studying curriculum and instruction
- Lydia Morgan, a freshman from Dubois majoring in early childhood education
- Kayleigh Orr, a junior from Uniontown majoring in middle grades education with a concentration in English language arts
- Alena Seder, a sophomore from Mount Pleasant majoring in middle grades education with a concentration in mathematics
- Aubrey Siwula, a freshman from Monongahela majoring in early childhood education
- Dominic Speal, a freshman from Saltsburg majoring in middle grades education with a concentration in mathematics
- Olivia Struck, a freshman from New Freedom majoring in middle grades education with a concentration in English language arts
- Nessa Wright, a freshman from Export majoring in early childhood education
