Jason Vohs Ph.D.

Professor, Chemistry

About Dr Vohs

Dr. Vohs has been a faculty member at Saint Vincent College since 2005 where he teaches courses across the chemistry curriculum from General Chemistry to Advanced Chemical Synthesis. As an inorganic chemist, his research interests are in organometallic synthesis, particularly the synthesis of organometallic complexes possessing large organic ligands. Such ligands aid in the stabilization of highly reactive metal centers and metal-metal bonds. Dr. Vohs also teaches a course for non-science majors called Chemistry of Cooking that is all about the science, techniques, and chemistry of food. In addition, Dr. Vohs serves as the advisor to the St. Vincent College Cooking Club.

Dr. Vohs also has an interest in science apologetics; he is a Community Scholar with the Reasons to Believe organization, a science-faith ministry that promotes the integration of science, theology, and philosophy.

Dr. Vohs resides in Greensburg with his wife, four children, and two dogs. He enjoys gardening, hunting, and kayaking.
