Welcome to the Saint Vincent College Policies and Procedures Page
Saint Vincent College’s policies reflect our philosophies, values and mission and provide guidance for decision-making and enforcement. Our policies are designed to ensure that all members of our community—students, faculty, staff, and visitors—understand their rights, responsibilities, and the standards we uphold as a Catholic, Benedictine institution.
The College’s Policy on Policies is intended to ensure a transparent process for the creation, approval, review, and revision of college policies, to facilitate broader community awareness of and engagement with such policies while increasing compliance and accountability, and to promote institutional consistency in the presentation and spirit of policies.
This site serves as a repository for policies that impact our community on a College-wide level. Access to certain policies that pertain only to the internal Saint Vincent College community will require the student, faculty, or staff member to login to the MySVC portal. Policies that apply to the broader Saint Vincent community and serve to inform the general public will be freely accessible through this site. All content on this Policy website is managed by the Office of Legal Counsel (including revisions to existing policies). These policies are periodically reviewed and updated to reflect current legal standards, best practices, and our evolving commitment to meeting the needs of our community and compliance with state and federal laws.
Saint Vincent reserves the right to amend or revoke its policies at any time. These policies are not binding contracts on the College, nor does the College intend to be contractually bound by them, except to the extent required under applicable law.
In the case of a conflict between a College policy and any other College document describing College practices (such as handbooks, guidelines, processes, procedures, or protocols), the College policy shall control. Nothing contained in any of the College’s policies is intended to prohibit or discourage employee conduct that is protected under the law, and employees should not construe any policies in such a manner.
In addition, this page includes information about and links to important procedures and processes used across the institution. Processes and procedures tied to a specific policy may be incorporated as appendices to that policy, while other processes and procedures may stand alone, independent of any one specific policy or function.
