Continental Breakfast: Monday - Friday 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
Lunch: Monday - Friday 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Brunch: Saturday & Sunday 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Dinner: Sunday - Friday 4:30 -7 p.m.
Saturday 5-7 p.m.
Monday - Friday 8 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Monday - Wednesday 10 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Thursday 10 a.m. - midnight
Friday 10 a.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Saturday 1 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Sunday 1 p.m. - midnight
Meal Plan Options
*Prices vary depending on what meal plan a student chooses. Freshman must purchase the 19 Meal Plan or the 15 Meal Plan for their first year of schooling. Prices will also vary based upon a rolling year. Meal plans run from Sunday to Saturday and plans may be used at the Community Center for meals or exchanged for meal equivalency at The Shack for Lunch & Dinner. Only one meal can be purchased within a 3 hour period. Meal plan and flex dollars expire at end of each semester.
19 Meal Plan
Provides 19 meals/week plus $50 Flex Dollars/semester and 5 bonus meals/semester
* "Best Value" meal option with the most meals in one week (Great for breakfast eaters!)
15 Meal Plan
Provides 15 meals/week plus $100 Flex Dollars/semester and 5 bonus meals/semester
*Perfect for freshman sport players!
12 Meal Plan
Provides 12 meals/week plus $125 Flex Dollars/semester and 5 bonus meals/semester
*Upperclassmen option only
200 Block Plan
Provides 200 meals/semester (which averages 13.5/week plus $100 Flex Dollars/semester and 5 bonus meals/semester
*Upperclassmen option only - Only option capable to use more than 1 meal in the 3 hour time period
Provides 8 meals/week plus $400 Flex Dollars/semester and 5 bonus meals/semester
*Upperclassmen option only - Students who are interested in this plan must reside in the Rooney Hall apartments.
Commuter Meal Plan
Provides 5 meals/week plus $50 Flex Dollars/semester
*Students who are interested in this plan must be currently enrolled as a student teacher or be a commuter student
Express dollars provide the ultimate flexibility for students. In addition to a resident's meal plan, he/she can purchase Express Dollars to add onto their card at any time. Commuters may add these dollars without having a meal plan. Express dollars are held in an account and act like a debit card. This was designed to allow students to purchase meals and snacks without the hassle of carrying cash. You can check your balance any time you make a purchase or even ask your cashier for your balance. Express dollars have a minimum buy-in of $50 increments with a %5 bonus at the time of purchase. You may then add more in $25 increments at any time after and will expire at the end of each academic year.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: CAN I REALLY EAT AS MUCH AS I LIKE?
A: Yes! We have an unlimited seconds policy which means that you get as many servings as you want of everything in the Community Center. There are only four (4) limitations to this policy.
- Once you leave the dining area you may not re-enter during the same meal period.
- We ask that you take only one entree at a time and consume it before you return for seconds.
- All food & beverage item(s) must be consumed before leaving the cafeteria.
- You may only take one serving of the special entree on Steak Night or other "Premium" Meals. However, another unlimited entree is available for your selection for seconds.
With these limitations, our staff will be glad to serve you as many second servings as you wish. Please do not ask the server to increase your portion size, because we have found that the standard portions reduce waste. Be conscious of food waste, as wasted food means higher costs for all students. Half portions of entrees are available upon request.
Q: WHAT WILL YOU DO TO KEEP ME FROM GETTING BORED WITH EATING IN THE DINING HALL?
A: Dining Services offers Special Events and Festive Theme Meals on a monthly basis designed to add variety to your dining experiences. The Festive Theme Meals usually feature ethnic entrees and accompaniments such as fruits and cheeses from around the world.
Q: WHO DO I CONTACT WHENEVER I HAVE A GREAT IDEA ABOUT IMPROVING DINING SERVICES?
A: Please feel free to contact the Dining Services Management Team at any time with your ideas, comments or suggestions. All management staff are available during the meal periods in the dining room and service areas of both the Shack and the Community Center. They are also available by telephone during non-meal service times.
Student Job Opportunities
Student associates are very important to us. We have many part-time or even full-time positions for students in the Community Center Dining Hall as well as The Shack and Catering. You can stop by the Dining Services office at any time to pick up your application!
