LATROBE, PA – On Saturday, April 24, Saint Vincent College students, faculty, staff and administration are invited to take part in “Walk a Mile in Their Shoes,” a socially distanced walk across the Saint Vincent campus to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence.
The walk will begin outside the Mary, Mother of Wisdom Student Chapel, with rolling start times between 2 – 4 p.m. The event is sponsored by Campus Ministry and the offices of Service Learning and Title IX.
Activity stations will be located throughout the route with opportunities to win a number of prizes, including SVC swag, a hammock, beach gear, food and an Amazon Fire.
Registration is available online at https://bit.ly/3stXbIJ, with a $5 donation to the Blackburn Center requested. The first 60 Saint Vincent community members who donate will receive a free Walk a Mile t-shirt.
Since 1976, Blackburn Center has been providing services to victims of domestic and sexual violence and other types of violence and crime in Westmoreland County and presenting free education programs throughout the community. All of Blackburn’s services are free and confidential and can be anonymous.
