Application Timeline

Your Admission Journey

Applying for college involves several important steps, and knowing when to begin each one can help streamline the process. Here's a general timeline to guide you from your junior year of high school through graduation.  We hope Saint Vincent College is on your top list of schools, and that your application journey leads you to our welcoming community.  If you have any questions about the application process, feel free to contact our admissions team at 800-782-5549, Ext. 2500

Admission & Aid

Junior Year

Fall

  • Talk to your school counselor about scheduling appropriate courses and logging a list of your extracurricular activities
  • Consider registering for the SAT and ACT for the May or June dates
  • Establish a criteria for your college search and create a 'top ten' list

Spring

Senior Year

September

  • Register for the SAT and/or ACT test and arrange for the scores to be sent to the colleges of your choice (optional for Saint Vincent College)
  • Request letters of recommendation (optional for Saint Vincent College)
  • Start your financial aid search
  • Finalize the list of schools to which you intend to apply
  • Begin writing admissions essays (optional for Saint Vincent College)

October and November

  • Discover admissions counselors dedicated to your region
  • Visit campuses and schedule admissions appointments
  • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Use SVC's school code 003368 for results to be sent to SVC.
  • Begin working on your applications and request that your school counselor sends your transcripts
  • Apply and submit applications by mid-November, ideally

January, February, March

April and May

  • Review applications and compare financial aid packages
  • Be sure to file FAFSA for PA State grants and campus-based funding by May 1.
  • By May 1, decide which college you will attend and notify other colleges
  • Make it official by accepting your admission
  • Pay enrollment deposit and begin completing the Enrollment Portfolio

June

  • Request that your final official transcript be sent to the college you are attending
