LATROBE, PA – Four members of the Saint Vincent College rugby club have been chosen to take part in the National Collegiate Rugby All-Star Shield Challenge, slated for mid-January in Houston, Texas.
The Saint Vincent College women’s rugby club team will be represented by three students, including junior philosophy and theology major Mary Conn of Doylestown, Pennsylvania; sophomore environmental science major Bridgette Gorg of Warrenton, Virginia; and sophomore biology major Giana Georgiana of Hollidaysburg. With their selection by their conference, the Allegheny Rugby Union, they were named three of the best players in the greater tri-state area.
Senior Lance Fenumiai, a communication major from Juneau, Alaska, will represent the Saint Vincent men’s club team, having been chosen from a field of players representing colleges from the Division-I, II and III levels.
The National Collegiate Rugby Challenge will take place Jan. 15-17 at Houston’s AVEVA Stadium.
