Report an Incident
IF THIS IS AN EMERGENCY, PLEASE CALL THE SAINT VINCENT COLLEGE OFFICE OF PUBLIC SAFETY AT 724-804-2311, FOR ON-CAMPUS MATTERS, OR 911 OFF-CAMPUS. THIS FORM IS NOT FOR REPORTING INCIDENTS THAT REQUIRE AN IMMEDIATE EMERGENCY RESPONSE.
Use the appropriate box below to report concerns of possible violations of the College’s Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Policy (“Policy”).
Saint Vincent College respects the sensitivity of the information that may be included in a report, and you may choose to submit it anonymously. In addition, except as otherwise required under law, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), or by policy, the College will keep confidential the identity of any individual who has made or makes a report, any complainant, any individual who has been reported to be the perpetrator, any respondent, and any witness.
Please note that, in accordance with the College’s amnesty policy, a witness or victim of an incident who reports an incident in good faith who is also a student at Saint Vincent will not be sanctioned by the College for admitting in the report to a violation of the student handbook policy on the personal use of drugs or alcohol.
Q: What happens when I submit this report?
A: Anyone can file a report of conduct that could constitute Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment or Sexual Misconduct. When it is submitted, a report is delivered to the College’s Title IX Coordinator for review. Any immediate safety needs will be assessed, as well as any request for confidentiality. The Office will proceed with its process as outlined in Policy when responding to the report. A report is different than a Formal Complaint. See the College’s Policy.
Note that any reports received may be accessible by the Title IX Coordinator. The report will also be included in the College’s file related to the matter.
Q: Will the Title IX Office contact me?
A: If you provide your name and contact information, yes. You will receive information acknowledging your report. Reporting parties will be provided with information about what resources and supports you or those involved may want or need, and to make sure that you have been provided important information about options and next steps.
Q: What does NOT happen when I submit this report?
A: This form does not initiate a report to police or a formal complaint under the policy and does not obligate Complainants to participate in the process moving forward. This form provides you with an opportunity to provide the Office with information related to sex discrimination, sexual misconduct or sexual harassment. It may also initiate the College’s investigation process.
Q: I am not sure if I should file this report. Can I talk to someone about my questions without providing details about the information I’m considering reporting?
A: Yes. The Title IX Coordinator would be happy to speak with you to answer all of your questions about reporting. You do not need to provide us with information about the report in order to get your questions answered.
