LATROBE, PA – Thirty-one graduates of Saint Vincent College’s Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing have been accepted and will pursue advanced degrees in graduate, medical and allied health programs at institutions across the U.S.
Six students will pursue advanced degrees in professional health programs, including:
-- Kaitlin Ackinclose, a biology major from Greensburg, who has been accepted into the Ohio State University College of Optometry.
-- Tyler Foradori, a biochemistry major from Brockway, who will pursue a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
-- Robert Lynn, a biochemistry major from Penn Township, who will pursue a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
-- Julian Metro, a biology major from Pleasant Hills, who will pursue a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at Lincoln Memorial University – Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
-- Alex Morgan, a biology major from Glassport, who will attend Palmer College of Chiropractic Medicine to pursue a doctor of chiropractic medicine degree.
-- Grace Noel, a bioinformatics major from Latrobe, who will pursue a doctor of medicine degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
Eleven students will pursue degrees in allied health programs, including:
-- Jenna Answine, a chemistry major from Greensburg, who will pursue a master of physician assistant science degree at Saint Francis University.
-- Danielle DeRienzo, an integrated science major from Venetia, who will pursue a master of physician assistant science degree at Seton Hill University.
-- Allison Hartsek, an integrated science major from Uniontown, who will pursue a doctor of occupational therapy degree at Kettering College.
-- Matthew Jaeger, an integrated science major, who will pursue a doctorate of pharmacy at Duquesne University.
-- Gerald Killiany, an integrated science major from Greensburg, who will pursue a doctorate of pharmacy at Duquesne University.
-- Alyssa Le, a bioinformatics major from Scottdale, who will pursue a master of physician assistant studies degree at Mercyhurst University.
-- Leah Memmo, an integrated science major from Bridgeville, who will attend Nova Southeastern University to pursue a doctor of physical therapy degree.
-- Sarah Proud, an integrated science major from Uniontown, who will attend La Roche University to pursue a master of science in nursing.
-- Dorothy Rowe, a biochemistry major from Ambridge, who will enter the accelerated bachelor of science in nursing program at Baldwin Wallace University.
-- Olivia Scott, a chemistry major from Pittsburgh (15217), who will enter Duquesne University’s Second Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
-- Caroline Snyder, an integrated science major from Cumberland, Maryland, who will pursue of master of science in nursing at La Roche University.
Fourteen students will enroll in graduate or Ph.D. programs, including:
-- Laurel Bellocchio, a biochemistry major from Nazareth, who will attend Vanderbilt University to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry.
-- Randal Cochenour, a mathematics major from Canonsburg, who will attend Saint Vincent College to pursue a master of science in curriculum and instruction.
-- Gina Coldren, a biochemistry major from Perryopolis, who will pursue a master of science in medical sciences at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
-- Joseph Heath, a biology major from New Castle, who will pursue a Ph.D. in biological sciences at Duquesne University.
-- Justin Hoffman, a biology major from North Huntingdon, who will pursue a master of science in automated science at Carnegie Mellon University.
-- Zelie-Marie Hummer, a chemistry major from Leola, will pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry at Penn State University.
-- Jordan Joseph, an engineering science major from Swissvale, who will attend Carnegie Mellon University and pursue a master of science in civil and environmental engineering.
-- Abby Manning, a biochemistry major from Bethel Park, who will pursue a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences at West Virginia University.
-- Moriah McGuier, a biochemistry major from Avella, who will attend Dartmouth College to pursue a Ph.D. in experimental and molecular medicine.
-- David Mignogna, a physics major from Belle Vernon, who will pursue a master of science in astronautical engineering at Ohio State University.
-- Allie Richter, a mathematics major from Connellsville, who will attend Saint Vincent College to pursue a master of science in counselor education.
-- Austin Sige, a biology major from Harrison City, who will attend Coastal Carolina University to pursue a master of science in coastal marine and wetland studies.
-- Stephanie Vaughn, a biology major from Clarks Mills, who will pursue a Ph.D. in biology at the University of Mississippi.
-- Maura Williams, a mathematics major from New Wilmington, who will be attending Clemson University to pursue a master of architecture degree.
The Herbert W. Boyer School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing offers undergraduate and graduate students a rigorous, integrated curriculum grounded in the founding principles of the Catholic and Benedictine tradition. These principles create an environment for study characterized by mutual respect, personal attention and open dialogue. The School emphasizes creative and logical problem solving, active learning, opportunities for research and co-curricular activities that stimulate personal growth and intellectual development which enable graduates to pursue careers in their chosen disciplines and contribute to the advancement of these fields of study.
