All posters hung on campus must be approved by the Office of Campus Life
The following guidelines must be followed:
- All posters on campus can only be posted on boards marked “Campus Events.” Including all lobbies and floors of Residence Halls.
- The club, organization or department is responsible for taking down all posters the day after the event.
- All fundraisers must be approved by the Office of Campus Life
- All use of sidewalk chalk must be approved by the Office of Campus Life
- Scotch tape should be the only tape used to hang up signs. Duct tape should never be used.
- All banners hung in the Carey Lounge must be approved by the Office of Campus Life
- Materials promoting a particular candidate, political party or a partisan political message or bias may not be posted or displayed electronically or physically around campus. This policy covers local, state and national politics and does not apply to campus activities sanctioned by the College.
- No posters may be taped to any walking surface in or around campus
FMO will remove signs that have not been approved or are placed in areas other than designated bulletin boards, including doors or windows.
How to get a poster approved:
- Must contain: Date, Time, Location of Event, Sponsor of Event, Contact Information
- Must be approved by the Office of Campus Life
- Please submit at least 24 hours before scheduled events
- Bring one copy to the Office of Campus Life and drop it in bin in the hallway
- Once approved, make additional copies and post in designated areas
Designated Poster Areas include:
- Lobbies and floors of all Residence Halls
- Alfred Hall (2nd Floor across from Review Office)
- Headmasters Hall (None at present time)
- Placid Hall (Inside Community Center by Bravisimo; Outside of Community Center)
- Prep Hall (None at present time)
- Carey Student Center (across from Bookstore, next to fitness center desk)
Designated Areas are bulletin board marked with “Campus Event” signs
Designated Chalking Areas include:
- Carey entrance leading from the barista door to the end of the windows by the SGA office.
- On the steps leading from Carey down to the path toward Rooney/Benny.
- On the sidewalk outside of Carey and the Career Center, but not on the brick section.
- All chalk must be washed away following the event, with water and brooms to scrub as necessary.
- Posters by authorized individuals on departmental bulletin boards (e.g. Career Center, History Department, etc.)
