LATROBE, PA – The Foster and Muriel McCarl Coverlet Gallery’s spring/summer 2024 exhibit, “An American Legacy: The Brian McCarl Collection,” recently was featured in the Colonial Coverlet Guild of America (CCGA) newsletter.

The coverlets in the display were selected from the recent donation of 115 of Brian McCarl's coverlets, which were gifted to the gallery by the McCarl Foundation in 2023.

The CCGA was founded in 1924 and is dedicated to the study and preservation of handwoven coverlets.

“A featured article in the CCGA newsletter is a wonderful way for our exhibit to reach interested audiences who cannot attend our gallery in person,” said Emily Barth, curator of the McCarl Coverlet Gallery. “It's particularly fitting that the exhibit featured in the article is a tribute to Brian McCarl, the son of Foster and Muriel McCarl, for whom the Saint Vincent gallery is named. The Gallery would not exist without the support of both generations of the McCarl family.”
