Next Benedictine spirituality series event focuses on the Eucharist

LATROBE, PA – Br. Aiden Sheridan, O.S.B., a junior monk and assistant to the director of oblates at Saint Vincent Seminary, will speak on “The Eucharist in Benedictine Spirituality” at 3 p.m. Oct. 20 in seminary classroom Brownfield 202.

Sheridan’s talk is part of a series of monthly presentations about Benedictine spirituality. The event will be followed by Vespers at 5 p.m. in the Archabbey Basilica and supper at 5:35 p.m. in the Eichstätt Dining Room. Those interested in attending supper should contact Fr. Donald Raila, O.S.B., S’83, director of oblates, at 724-805-2291. The deadline to register for dinner is Oct. 18.

Also, local oblates of Saint Benedict affiliated with Saint Vincent Archabbey will lead a discussion about the book “Study Guide for the Rule of St. Benedict” by Abbess Emerita Maria-Thomas Bell, O.S.B., at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 20 in Brownfield 202.

Oblates and their guests are welcome to attend the annual oblate day of recollection Oct. 26 at the Archabbey. The first conference will begin at 9 a.m. For information, contact Fr. Donald at 724-805-2291or Nancy Premoshis at 724-244-0746 by Oct. 21.
